Returned back to camp on wednesday, then straight away thursday guard duty, then straight away friday 16km route march. When complain 16km shag, ppl will say "72km also walk already wad, wad is 16km", that is quite true, but it is still painful, if you eat before 72 piles of shit, ask you eat another 16, it still feels like shit.

The sun was unforgiving, the walk was never ending (ok abit exaggerated) plus the load, especially my block det was unimaginable, kudos to those in det 5 whom carried the crazy load and still managed to keep up and complete the march.

Had Saturday lunch with family at West Coast Recreational Park Jack's Place, seldom we get to have lunch as a family on saturday since my dad would be working, ok la quite a rewarding meal especially after the march.

Watched Manchester United lose 1-2 to Liverpool, knn last minute kuyt goal, oh well.

Oh my god its Sunday already?

My gosh, holidays are over already, booking in as of tonight. The past 4 days (sat, sun, mon, tues) have been like a dream, totally forgotten that I'm a NSF, then suddenly yesterday then you realise, "OH FUCK, i still have 4 months plus of outfields and shit to go through), reality sucks.

Anyways on a happier note, the past few days really have been fun, meeting relatives, gambling, catching up, eating the good food my uncle always whips out on CNY, the numerous reunion dinners and lo heis +++ and not forgetting collecting of ang baos, lol.

Met up with 5th coy at D8 for another drinking session on Monday night, super lots of alcohol and fun, A nam gone, thiamkoon also gone, haha I was almost gone also, thanks to ivan and erkee who constantly helped me drink. I almost forgotten, kena disturb by a lady boy, ya wtf and he/she say he/she remembers my baby face in d8, lame I've only been there like twice previously?

After the past few days which have been super packed, finally we can all look forward to the long weekend break and Chinese New Year. At least this year, most of us are able to celebrate the full CNY instead of having to do guard duty like last year, I remember last year's CNY being quite miserable, botak head, shit trainee life (ok life's still shitty now, but slightly better) guard duties. This year's junior bravo really have it easy, so late then cross over to battalion, straight away attached to senior coy also, I remember us being fucked for quite awhile cause we somehow crossed over too early.

Went for my eye screening on Tuesday at NUH eye clinic at Buona Vista, first time see so many machines just to screen your eye, in the end my eye was super sore and numb due to the numerous solutions they dripped into my eye and also stuff they stuck into my eye. Passed the screening, finally i thought I could leave 1 CDO for my pilot training but then shit always happens, turns out I can only go after ATEC, really lame. Like that I may screw up my University enrolment, haiz. fml

Had another VA, this time for the super junior bravo batch, saw one of my bro's friend there also, alot of difference between alpha and bravo sia, most of the people in my detail no effort one, see already also want vomit but oh well I was slightly the same 2 years ago.

Spent 3 days with 11 other buddies from 5th coy doing enemy support, wa the weather these few days is really unforgiving, woke up from afternoon nap sweating like a dog, really reminds me of Thailand weather, boring but still quite a fun experience.

Come back from support then kena notified of last minute duty, fucking spoil my Friday.

Oh well.

Wanna say a big HI to any 5th coy personel who happen to be reading this ...

somehow my blog which I have been keeping a secret for awhile got exposed to my coy people,

How did it happen? a simple chain reaction started in ParaWing from bryan, somehow james overheard our conversation that I have a blog, renfa so nice to google out my blog link for everyone there then, somehow the rest is history.

Had a mini gathering with the MOT people (bs cz ron mal bryan sp picky, so long never meet up le) at Shin Yuu Japanese Restaurant at 16 Greenwood Avenue, located in some ATAS environment, yea the food inside also quite atas and nice but I would rather go eat at Kushinbo leh, more variety man. Afterwards went pool session at Mambo, wa I miss the poly days man, after skool/in between lessons go down to Bukit Timah Plaza for kfc, chicken rice then pool or LAN. sigh ~ . 'Reunion' dinner with paternal side at Yew Tee afterwards.

Getting fatter man, my uncle commented on how come my cdo hands so flabby one, haiz. Just last week leonad said I was getting flabbier, die la, need to start cutting down BUT CNY is around the corner, zzz.

Going for my eye test at NUH this tuesday to see if I'm suitable for the lasik surgery, hoping for the best, if only I had taken better care of my eyes, no need for all this shit.

in about 24 more hours, 2011 will soon be over and it will be time to welcome 2012. Hopefully the new year brings in more good than bad in everything be it personal, the economy etc.

My 2011 summary ( its mostly about NS, no time for other stuff also right?)

January
Started the year on a low, finally crossed over to battalion, shits started coming, numerous tekan and mind fucking sessions, wondering why the fuck I wanna stay for.
Oh wait, there's BAC, first time jumping out of a working aircraft in 20 years of my life, tough and boring training but the jump made it worth it.

February
Shitty life in 1 CDO continues, CNY was a relief and a short break for us afterwards some of us were attached to senior companies and i was attached to 4th coy with kieran kenny and rf. Living the turn ops life while you are still a trainee, not bad, get to book in civilian, keep abit of hair, order deliveries bring in your own entertainment and food, wa we really appreciated every single thing. Downside was the numerous outfields and route marches, super shag. Met some of the nicest seniors in 4th coy also.

March
Prepping for my first overseas trip with SAF to taiwan. Excited and kindof sian also, going overseas first time not for leisure but for training, Oh my gosh.
Taiwan was friggin cold especially at night, sleeping outfield was terrible, shivered non stop, had to use heat pack, their winter gortex and groundsheet but still not enough. But taiwan's canteen food is da bomb, chicken cutlet, fried rice, milk tea etc, think of it now also wet.

April
RnR in taiwan is the best also, 3d2n of fun, haha sight see-ing, shopping, makaning and even clubbing, I won't forget the super small hotel which me and kieran shared.
All good times have to end sometime, touched down in Singapore, had a short break before going back to 5th company, wa i remember the feeling was super bad. Totally no mood, hair was back to 2 by 1, regiment was worst than a bmt recruit i feel, then the tekaning all came back. Mentally prepping for all the major training programmes which our seniors all told us about. Thankfully i was a cdo gold, managed to book out for most fridays. People started counting down to red beret presentation.

May
All the exercises started, lack of sleep, i remember waking up every morning and feeling super sian but still must suck it up and continue. One of the most shag missions, all out, we literally went all out, came back with the worst heat rash ever, then there was the 35km route march, the final phase before embarking on Brunei.
Brunei is the worst SAF trip ever, training there was horrible, weather sucked, terrain sucked, camp sucked,food sucked, rnr also cmi. Ex swampwalk, omg how did i managed to go through it. 3 miserable weeks spent there but once we came back, morales were all high, 72km more and we get the beret.

June
72km route march, listening to seniors say "just walk only" it was really painful, especially walking in the wee hours, constant sleepwalking. So glad when we finally reached back Hendon, walked more than 24 hours man.
Red beret presentation, proudest moment of my NS life, all the shit cultivating into one day, finally we all made it. Hmm in the end i realise the beret is just a headress u wear to cookhouse and do your numerous guard duty.

July
Started Ops life, hmm alot better than trainee life of course, rather a low key month. Started to put on weight.
Conducted VA, nostalgic moment, i remember me myself stepping into the gates for VA not too long ago.

August, September
Embarked on my 3rd SAF trip in a year, to thailand for ranger support aka lepak for 1 month.
Weather there was friggin hot, food was nice, especially the street food but RnR cmi.

October
Returned to 5th coy, straight away got to take IPPT which I some how managed to maintained gold and then battalion jump, omg so long never jump, balls still shrink.
Outfields started coming back, sians.

November, December
OUTFIELDS OUTFIELDS, i even spent my 21st in OUTFIELD!

Moving aside ..

Decided not to club with the rest, anyway i decided to stop clubbing already, how long i don't know, i just somehow don't see the point in it anymore. This week been drinking quite alot also, wednesday ladies night got quite alot to drink, then ytd went down to chevrons for k session with bs kiki and js, knn they ordered alot more drinks, zzz need to stop this unhealthy lifestyle man.

Anyway my mom bought me a 32 gb ipad2 sort of for my 21st birthday, haha finally get to lay my hands on it, cost a bomb though, feeling kind of bad.

Staying home and watching the running man, haha literally laughing my ass off. Damn i really wanna go overseas like real bad, japan/korea ~.~, watching the seniors who just ORD-ed posting their ORD trip pictures, wa tempting man.

Rumours of a mock activation seems to get stronger by the minute, wa need to mentally prepare, haiz last day of 2011 man, can't you just give us some peace?

Spending majority of my last week of 2011 on OFF, but need to book in tonight and then book out tml due to lack of OFF, haiz WTH.

With a blink of an eye 2011 is ending, this year seem to pass super fast, maybe because of the numerous outfields and also going overseas for 3 times in one year, taiwan in march, brunei in may and thailand in september. Gonna have to look back on 2011 and start reflecting before embracing the new year.

Spent christmas and boxing day with family and also with friends, went out to eat both lunch and dinner with bs picky and js, LAN-ed and pool-ed, K-ed also, just did not go club, i think i need to start cutting down on clubbing, just don't see the point of it anymore.

5-6 more months to ORD, time to start cherishing NS life a bit, after ORD, there won't be pay on the 10th of every month, 3 meals provided from Monday- Friday AND we all have to start thinking about what you have to do be it studies or work. zzz so frustrating man.

Just gonna enjoy the last few days of 2011.

2 weeks since i last updated.

First I wanna wish myself a belated 21st birthday, the start of adulthood, more responsibilities and more to think about now. And I also wanna thank everyone whom wished me be it from msgs, facebook, upfront +++, i really appreciate it (:

Alot happened this 2 weeks. Outfields after outfields, especially this week's super shag back to back mission and whats worst is that my 21st happen to fall on the date of our 2nd mission.

Did I mention I went for SNSD's Singapore tour concert with Eden, Derrick, Dominique, $218 was worth it la, imagine watching the 9 babes right up from and they really look much better live, trust me. But next time i would rather get a sitting seat, standing for 3 hrs is no joke, plus rubbing shoulder to shoulder with other sweaty people and the need to tip toe just to get a better view, hmmm.

Went to phuture to celebrate Ms Kwok's birthday, haha quite fun dancing and doing crazy things with army friends, previous week I was at Rebel with bs and js, nice catching up with them but rebel was freaking packed with people especially GUYS!, omg fking cockfest. oh well.

Had a gathering with both my paternal and maternal sides to celebrate my 21st at Boon Lay Raja's Restaurant, quite a touching scene to see so many of them turn up.

Booked in feeling quite low as we all knew the next 5 days would be shag. The feeling is like booking in during BMT for field camp and during training phase for Ex All Out.

Did planning with lack of sleep, distance travelled on foot to objective was long, the load of our alice bags were even heavier then before, walking every step was really painful but I'm glad we all completed the 2 successful missions. Really wanna salute everyone in the coy and especially people in detachment 5 aka block force, our load was definitely the heaviest among the rest but we still managed to suck it up and push through, thumbs up! But its not all shitty moments, there were some light hearted moments like the durians of Lim Chu Kang, haha. Anyways NO more outfield for 2011 !!

Gonna celebrate tml with bs and gang, worked hard for the past 2 weeks, now its time to relax and enjoy myself, on leave on the next 4 out of 5 working days.

19 days to my 21st, it seems im gonna spend my 21st outfield, wad a memorable birthday man.

Just got back from Terrence's birthday, Happy Birthday to you man, my good friend since BMT, wow sometimes i miss the good old bmt platoon 2 det 3 days BUT i don't wanna go back to those days, friggin regimental days. 6mths to ORD, fly faster pls.

This week has been pretty slack, no outfields, so its pretty much PT, gym sleep then nights out. This should be the life of every NSF personel with 6mths to ORD, sigh.

Watched Breaking dawn with 10+ camp mates, like a romantic right? Haha its not a bad movie plus Kristen Stewart looks hotter than before but also quite a turn off during the later part of the show when she doesn't have any make up on.

Attended 4th Coy's ORD dinner at Miramar Hotel's Peach Garden Restaurant, happy for them, miss the times during falcon and taiwan with them, definitely fun people to have around. Enjoy your ORDinary life and pink IC.

1st ever 5th Coy Outing on Friday, as usual it rained in the morning but thankfully it stopped around afternoon. Rugby, soccer, volleyball, tossing people into water ++++, lots of fun plus definitely a good bonding session for everyone. Ended the day with a buffet at Bugis, 70 pax squeezing inside a moderate eating place, hot stuffy but everyone had a good talk cock session.

We had a birthday celebration for all the dec babies.
Okay i'm gonna sleep soon, friggin tired.

The Future

Sometimes it sucks when u are turning into an adult, cause thats when you have to start planning about your future, what you wanna do, blah blah blah, of coz every mother's child wanna be rich in the future but we know thats not gonna happen with just plain dreaming and waiting oh well.

Last week was preetyy shagg, component training, the fucking weather was terrible man, people in other unit with less than 6mths to ord already got ORD mood already while we are preparing for arguably the highest key event in our 2 year of NS. sucks man.

Watched the seniors ORD, ya coz we were in their parade, well jealous and happy for them, finally 2 years of shit ends, all the tough trainings guard duties, but its through tough times that you forge closer bonds with your mates. Won't forget the times when I was attached to 4th coy for ATEC, bitter and sweet moments.

Went down to Phuture yet again on Friday, wa fking oven man but it was a fun session with army friends, am I addicted to clubbing? hmm i hope not.

Celebrated Mak's early birthday at his chalet at downtown, Happy Birthday to Mak SW, my good friend since BMT.

This week pretty much felt like a stayout week, monday night booked out as tuesday i had some medical briefing at Aeromedical centre, stay in Hendon camp for Tuesday, Wednesday night booked out as I had leave on thursday, then thursday need come back for inspection, ccb on off somemore, booked out damn late, then friday afternoon book in again, for a IPPT that was cancelled, ccb fking waste my time. Fking wasted my off day.

Went Phuture with army friends, met mr zhang bosheng there with his army friends also, first time clubbing there, not bad man, thankfully no c***fest.

I haven't watch 那些年，我們一起追的女孩 yet man, zzz worst comes to worst, funshion or download, >.<

wow, its been almost 3 weeks since I've last updated, been kindof busy lately, guard duty, hanging with friends, spending time with family, outfields and other stuff.

Finally did our ex Ignite which we owed, the thought of going outfields really sucks man, the planning, rehearsals and finally the execution, haiz I really sibei sian of outfields already man. What to do? -.- Heat rash doesn't really help also.

I seriously wonder if I will be allowed to leave in december to join air force anot, haiz it's so frustrating, so many stuff to do and think of.

Training schedule will be more pack from now on, which means more outfields, route marches +++.

Drink Drank Drunk

Its been awhile since I last updated. Been kind of busy + lazy

Currently on block leave till next Sunday, shiokk.

Outfields for the past 2 weeks, as usual outfields sucked, had our component training and also another training exercise, biggest enemies were not the opposing enemies but the friggin mosquitoes and sandflies, it was a feasting session, everyone's back hands leg etc were all filled with bites. sucks.

Had a 5th coy gathering session at Parklane's D8, first time at a thai disco for me, drinks were much cheaper thus resulting in everyone drinking alot and then resulting in many people getting drunk. I'm gonna post this picture so the future me in 20 years time will look back, laugh and wonder why I did stupid/crazy things like this.
As for Saturday, kindof busy, afternoon met Bryan to get present for Billy and then we attended his birthday celebration at Pasir Ris Arenda, went earlier then the rest and left earlier as we had our MO5 gathering at Bugis Iluma. Been awhile since I've last seen many of them, haha plenty to catch up on.

Need to take a slight break from alcohol, giving my liver a break but I really wanna go Butter on Wed night. hmm

Finally submitted my air force paperwork, shall see how it goes.

No More IPPT

5/10/11 is a somewhat special day, it will be the last IPPT i will take for my NSF days, very happy to be able to maintain my CDO gold standard, in fact i ran faster than the last time, hit 9.04, still unable to go below 9 but oh well below 9.14 is enough i guess. The station I had the most problem this time was pull ups, pulling 12 was much harder than before, knn no thanks to my weight gain.

Anyways returned back to 1 CDO Bn on Tuesday night, feeling sucks as before, had a currency jump on Thursday, I remember the last time i jumped was in Jan or Feb, felt super scared as it has been a while and we were all rusty. But thankfully it was a good jump, nice weather, nice terrain and my landing spot was close to the admin area, so lesser walking distance.

Next week is gonna be sian, 3 days outfield, haiz.

Back From The Land of Thousand Smiles

With a blink of an eye, 30+ days in Kanchanaburi Thailand is finally over, 8 months more to ORD.

Went to Thailand to do Ranger Course Support, weather there is definitely much hotter than Singapore but the people there are much definitely much friendlier and less hostile. Enjoyed trying all sorts of street stall food, the coconut ice-cream and also Sai Yok Camp's canteen, also had fun mingling with the friendly Thai Villagers and little children. Their simple life compared to Singapore's fast paced and hectic lifestyle.

Well I'm just gonna let the photos do a quick summary.

At the airport on a public holiday, Terrence was nice enough to come and send us off.

Next Tuesday I will once again be embarking on yet another SAF overseas trip, this time to Thailand for slightly more than 1 month for ranger course support.

Past few days have been really tiring majority is due to the lack of sleep, thank god today mornings IPPT was cancelled due to the heavy rain, I don't think I'm in the right state for CDO gold standard. Monday - Tuesday was our course shoot followed by Wednesday to Thursday support COCC, its been awhile since i went outfield, combat fitness dropped quite abit, some more in block det, the weight is horrible.

Booked out during afternoon today but found out I don't have my house keys, thankfully my dad was just in the neighborhood, if not I wonder where else can I go with so many stuff in my hand.

Just went for a run, operation keep fit + lose weight, knn my wake up call was when i can't fit into one of my jeans, need to cut down on my intake and start doing more cardio, at the same time I can train for my IPPT.

It's been awhile since i last blogged.

well key events for the past 2 weeks

1)NDP 2011, well finally a public holiday but also a nice parade put up by seniors from 3rd and 4th company. well i will be watching NDP 2012 as a civilian, can't wait man.

2)Being on standby, now i have to carry my personal pager with me 24/7 and hoping every phone call i get is from my friends and not asking me to report back to camp, sigh ~.~

3) Guard duties, since turning operational, i've been doing alot of guard duty, so many until people keep thinking i kena extra, well like what i keep telling others, my coy strength is fking chui, without juniors taking over weekends, i have to do on every alternate weeks, zzz fking fked up. i need my life back.

Anyways new window for IPPT starts and my first IPPT in awhile will be on next Wednesday, zzz i really hope i can maintain my cdo gold standard so i can book on on FRIDAYS!

Happy 1 year Anniversary with SAF. 10 more months!

This week we had Vocational Assessment. Quite a nostalgic moment, I remember roughly last February I received the VA letter asking me to report to Hendon camp, didn't even know what the hell was it, only found out it was for commando selection. I remember reaching the place seeing the seniors in the white cdo t-shirt and i thought it was like so cool to be a CDO fighter but I guess i was wrong, too late to regret though. Looking at all the new wannabes, you can see some of them really want to join cdos and some just want to get the f out of here.

New IPPT window starting soon, zzz hopefully i still can maintain my cdo gold ):

Anyways we had 'detachment outing' today, in the end it turned out to be a LAN session in town.

Marksmanship

Finally achieved my marksmanship badge, phew it took like forever for a bobo shooter like me to finally hit the 39 points, seriously one of the hardest $200 earned.

Anyways the past few days have been rather slack, mostly PT sessions plus soccer sessions in the evening, new IPPT window is coming soon, really hope I still can maintain my CDO gold standard, zzz if not its back to RT RT ~.~

Attended Xavier's birthday at MBS last Saturday, first time inside a MBS suite, really got the atas feeling and also attended jimmy's birthday celebration at Brewerks ytd.

Ops Life

Started my first week of ops life this week, well there isn't much of a difference, just a bit more welfare and freedom to do what we want to do.

Up and coming AHM is the main focus, training together with the rest even though I won't be taking part in it as I will be going to Thailand. Well training is shag, the long distance run. I was initially supposed to take part in the 10km competitive run representing the formation but I won't be in Singapore then, its good though, the training is from Monday to Saturday, wa biang eh.

Need to start exercising more and cutting down on my junk food intake, well quite a few people have noticed me gaining weight, not a good sign, plus theres the new IPPT window coming up, need to start training for it also.

Sigh, well i still thought OPS life will be slack ~.~

Time really flies, its already Thursday, my block leave is ending very sooooon.

Anyway this is what I have been up to these few days.

Monday

Went JB with army mates, xl jimmy and zh. We were the only few miserable people left in Singapore, majority of 1 CDO BN already left off to HK, some TW and BKK.

Well its quite a nice place to chill-lax, we went to makan the famous bak kut teh other finger food and had dinner at this mexican restaurant, well the food there is really cheap. Other than window shopping we also went to sing K and then massage session, ya that's pretty much.

Tuesday

NUA-ed the whole day at home, super shiok I tell you, I really miss this life man.

Wednesday

At night, went to Butter Factory with army friends, pw james xl, nice chilling + drinking session, had a crazy time dancing there also, saw quite a few familiar faces, there were some people from 1 CDO, I saw Vilasini and HH with their friends there also plus I also saw my upstairs neighbour, wth right?

Going out for dinner with bs and gang, its been a very long time since we last met up, ~.~

24/6/11 will always hold a special place in the hearts of all Bravo Coy 10-12, its the day we finally earn the coveted RED Berets can finally call ourselves full fledged commando fighters.

Well the journey started with BMT on 30/7/10 and I must say the route to the beret is really hard, tough trainings, mind fucking sessions and alot of sacrifices like your precious weekends and public holidays, yes I'm sure everyone always bitches and moan about the shit life, thoughts of OOC comes into our minds often but I'm glad we all managed to just suck it up and hang on till the very day.

Final journey was the much dreaded/awaited? 72km route march, we walked all the way from Tuas till our very home camp Hendon. It was much more tiring than I expected, especially during the wee hours of the morning, i guess many of us were sleep walking, it was really hard to keep our eyes open and the aching in our backs and legs didn't help much but the support and constant talking cock with your buddies seem to make time pass a wee bit faster. Seeing the sight of Hendon Camp was really a very touching moment and it also means finally we are done.

Our Red Beret Presentation Parade went well, I'm glad my family made it for the donning of the red beret and photo-taking session, even though they missed almost 3/4 of the whole thing.

If you guys have read yesterday's straits times, you would have seen an article saying cdo trainee suffering heat injuries during a swamp walk exercise in Brunei, yup that guy is from my swamp walk detachment and I was one of the 2 medics whom attended to him, got a huge scare when the whole thing happen, first time see-ing something that serious happened, thankfully he's recovering and awake now, wishing him a speedy recovery.

Was at Butter Factory last night with army friends till today morning, first time going butter, nice place, nice view but just a lil too stuffy.

72km is next week, trainee phase is almost over ~.~

Was in Brunei from May 24th-14th June

Finally touched down in Singapore today at around 0820hrs, feels damn good to be back.

So glad that this 3 week Brunei Chapter is over, well it may not have been as tough as what our seniors went through but it is still tough, seriously. Weather was kind of nice to as also, only started heavy rain on the last few days.

Lots of things happen, some which I will not name, missions were shag, the Bruneian terrain is really a lot tougher than Singapore, the knolls were steep and hard to climb, lot's of thorny plants, the ground was muddy +++

But I guess the 2 main exercise which left the deepest impression will be the swamp walk and our last mission, swamp walk is just totally fked up, with mud as high as your hip to chest level, crawling on fours at times, I'm so glad we made it through without having to harbour for the night. Well for the last mission we climb the famous mt biang, swam across a river once again and also we slept under the fking heavy rain.

One final hurdle before getting the red beret, 72km.

Now I'm gonna enjoy my well deserved rest.

35km route march completed on Tuesday which happened to be Vesak day, total time taken was about 10+ hours, was shag but still manageable, I wonder how the 72km will be, all the seniors say its gonna be fking pain, but just keep walking, hope I'll be able to do it also.

Final phase of our training life will be happening tonight, going off to Brunei for 3 weeks, I bet it's gonna be mind fking, shag training + lot's of tekan, hope everyone comes out of it in one piece. Heard alot of the swamp walking, mount biang +++, now its finally time for us to try it out, ~.~

Finally the highly 'anticipated' ALL OUT exercise is over and done with, I can remember the feeling when we finally reached back to Hendon Camp at around 3pm.

Even though I think our exercise wasn't as challenging as the senior coys, I still find it quite demanding, for the first few days was the lack of sleep and the horrible load of your bag, then heat rash kicked in on day 2 for mi and slowly got worst, imagine 1000 of needles pricking your back, -_-, I don't wanna experience it ever again man ~.~. I will never forget the 8km casevac, really shag-ed out.

Survived the 4 days with just biscuits, few mouthful of combat ration main pack and powdered drinks.

All that's left now is 35km followed by Brunei and lastly the 72km route march. Can't wait for 24th June.

Been very busy in camp recently, very packed schedule with training almost everyday, waking up every morning feeling fking shag, whole body aching and wondering wtf am I doing all this for. The hot weather in Singapore isn't making things any better also.

Its finally the much 'anticipated week', exercise All Out, heard lot's of stories about it from seniors already, the most shag out mission, heat rashes +++, finally it's time for us Bravo Coy to experience it. Haiz, hope to come out of it in one piece.

Well adapting back to training company life isn't really that easy, not when u had a hell lot of fun for such a long time in a ops company. Well the moving fast, doubling here and there, echo-ing, sometimes it's just plain irritating. Oh well ~

Lots of major and key exercises still to come, sigh, this 2 months is gonna be one of the longest painful and mind fking time of my life, hope I do survive it and then enjoy the better life afterward.

Touched down at Singapore's Changi Airport at around 0130hrs on 09/04/11. My 1month stay in Taiwan was finally over. Great to see my family members after like so long, this is my longest trip away from home.

Well, after resting for the past 3 days which seem to pass so friggin fast, tml is finally D day for the Taiwan trip.

But I'm glad for the past few days, I got to experience civilian life once again. I got to wake up at whatever time I want and also do whatever shit I want. Some of the stuff I did, I went to catch a movie with my family, The Adjustment Bureau which was kind of sucky but Emily Blunt is hawt though, I got to eat ajisen ramen yet again and I got myself a new Manhattan Portage bag.

Finished packing my stuff, should be all set for the trip.

Hmmm it's my first time going overseas with the army, wondering what to expect ... ... it's gonna be cold in Taiwan.

Kind of coincidental that I went to Taiwan with my classmates in March 2010, gosh it's been a year already, time seems to fly but not while I'm in NS, i only served for like only 8 months? This will also be my 3rd trip to Taiwan -_-.

This trip is gonna happen from 11/3-9/4, it's gonna be real shag i think, well just look forward to the 3 day RnR.

Anyway the past few days have been tiring, first the 20km road + hills march, coming back to camp all shag out, preparing to rest then last minute informed that we will be doing combat jump the following day, jump was okay but the friggin load and walk is not, I'm so glad its over for now.

Well another week in 1 CDO Battalion passes.

Its sad that I didn't manage to get my CDO gold again, fk this time i ran 9.16 and missed by 2seconds, ah crap i need to start training up, so as a result of not getting the coveted gold, my half a Saturday is wasted in camp, sigh. I need the CDO gold back asap!

A number of us juniors are being attached to different companies to assist in ATEC, meaning I'll be going to Taiwan in March, well there are it's pros and cons, we are in a senior coy, meaning they already gotten their red beret, of coz life there is much slacker, more privileges but the sad thing is the need to take part in their missions, wow its shag man, but like what they say, its good experience to improve your combat fitness, sigh, i hate outfields ~.~

Gonna rest my freaking sore and tired body during this short weekend, next week's gonna get tougher, hope to hang in there.

Happy CNY to all those out there, its nice to have a public holiday like finally, take a break from all the tekan-ing and mind fking sessions. Still feeling quite tired every now and then, I guess its due to the past 3 days, sleep deprived, we slept like a total of 6 hours, super tired. The road to the red beret is not going to be so easy, sigh.

Anyways, sent my parents to the airport early this morning, they're leaving for China, so its just left with me and my bro.

I guess this CNY is different cause I'm friggin botak. Yesterday I visited the doctor for cough and apparently he asked if I was in Tekong doing BMT, I told him I'm a 6 months soldier and he was like wtf? Well then I had to explain to him the reasons for my short recruit hair. And wtf consultation fee on CNY eve is $66 alone, ccb in the end i paid $88, quite ironic.

Tuesday we officially crossed over to 1 Commando Battalion. Well the expected welcoming gift really happened but thank god it was cut short due to the weather. And ya we are mostly promoted to our CPL ranks but its just for show i feel, coz I totally feel like a chao recruit all over again. Short hair, standby beds, + + +

Had IPPT on thursday, running dropped from 9:09 to 9:19, sigh can't blame too long never run already, gonna work harder to get the gold again and enjoy its benefits.

Did my first guard duty at Hendon Camp, well its not as tiring, there should be many more duties to come in the future. Only got to book out today morning at 10am, wa need to book in tonight by 930pm tonight, sigh spend so little time at home this week >.< .

Next 3 days will be tiring yet again, currently using the upcoming CNY as the motivation pushing on.

And so, the 3 week Basic Airborne Course ended.

From Monday till Wednesday we had our Combat phase training, carrying a single parachute is already quite shag, now we still have to double the weight to make up for the combat equipment + a weapon. Standing straight up is already shag enough, performing drills with the weight is unbearable. Having a instructor scolding and nagging 24/7 doesn't really make the situation any better.

Went for our live descent on Thursday at PLAB. First experience of jumping out of a C130. We walked to the pick up zone like penguins, boarded the friggin hot plane and slowly waited for it to ascend to 1000 ft. Jumping this time was much scarier, probably due to the faster aircraft speed and our combat weight. This time I landed on the friggin tarmac runway and kena drag by the wind, thankfully I only suffered some minor abrasions.

After dinner we had our silver wings presentation ceremony, finally we've earned our silver wings. Supposed to do a night jump but it was canceled for us due to lack our time. Oh well.

Friday was the day we graduated from ParaWing and moving over to Coy line, everyone was already expecting the worst. And we really had shit the moment we stepped into the battalion square, everything in and out, to the longest standby bed in my NSF life. Finally we got to book out at 2215, mentally and physically shagged out, well hopefully we all get used to this life soon.

Today's booking in day, sigh.

Sense Of Achievement

Well, what a week!

This week passed super fast. And yes of course, the highlight of the week will be my live descent from 1000 ft.

I remember waking up at 3am on Wednesday morning, had our pre jump training, safety briefing, breakfast and then heading down to Sembawang Airbase. Reached there at 6am, then we had an orientation of the whole place, everyone's heart was beating real fast, not knowing what to expect. I remember our enchek saying, you guys should be very proud of yourselves for this is something not every had dares to do.

We had a chance to see our instructors jump off first, well the whole point is to show us that its safe but everyone was more freaked out, seeing the chinook flying to such a height made us more nervous, then we saw the jumpers flying out one at a time, its really like the song " when the parachute blooms, like a flower in the sky" its quite a nice sight.

Then soon, groups of 24 went up and started their jump. When its our turn to suit up, we all went ahead, got our safety checks and then headed to the pick up point to enter the chopper. Everyone's faces were all tensed up. Up in the sky, when the rear doors open for the first time, we were all like WTF, this is it, we are gonna jump down from here. Since I'm the lightest in my group, I was the last to jump off. Took alot of courage to walk up to the door and kicking off.

Jumping off the chinook, it took roughly 3-5 seconds for the parachute to deploy, the few seconds of free falling is just amazing, seems so peaceful, then when the parachute deploys, we just applied what we've learned and maneuvered ourselves to ground, upon reaching ground, you just feel a total sense of achievement. All the tough training pays off.

Did another 2 jumps on Friday, this time it wasn't as scary as the first, but still fun and thrilling.

Well, the past 5 days of training has been tough and abit mentally straining, repeating the same thing over and over again sometimes takes its toll on you, but it's all for our own good, so we just pressed on.

Highlight of the week was today's 5 storey tower jump. Well gives everyone goosebumps thinking about it, but conquering this 5 storey jump is the first step to conquering jumping down an aircraft flying at 1000 feet.

Well it didn't turn out to be as scary as I thought, of course the first time was the scariest as you don't know what to expect, but the next 3 times I leaped off, it wasn't really that fearful anymore, well, any fear will be eliminated cause you know there are people taking care of your safety but I guess for the live jump it's much different, once you are out of the plane, you have only yourself to manoeuvre yourself to safety.

5 more days to our live descent, excited maybe, scared, definitely.

Well, this will be my last entry for the year 2010.

Well some highlights of 2010

Graduating from NP, hmmm its time we all finally grew up and start planning for the future. Well the main change for me in 2010 is probably enlistment for National Service, finally it was my turn and time to shave everything off, suit up in green and serve the 22 months.

Well there's also fun trips like going to Taiwan with poly classmates and also my June trip to Sydney with my mom.

Anyways, attending the 3 week airborne course, well its more tiring than I expected, the parachute is actually very heavy, approx 40kg, well going for my first jump on 12 Jan, well excited and at the same time very terrified. Next week's gonna be tough, glad to have a slightly longer weekend to recuperate my aching neck and leg muscles.

Merry Christmas to those few people who still visit my blog. Well Christmas is a time for forgiving and sharing, well and it's suppose to be a happy occasion, so I hope it can lift up my low spirits some how.

Last few days have gotten me thinking of a lot of flaws in my life, things that maybe I could have prevented from happening, well there's no going back in time, so I guess we have to suck it up and live life in the present.

Spent my 20th birthday in PRC, well its a new experience i guess. Being sprayed counterpain + camo cream + many other stuff is one form celebration shown to me by my NS mates.

Went out with my old BMT detachment mates to marina square just now, its nice to gather after quite some time, the same old catching up and talking cock. But i somehow regret not spending more time with my parents at night.

Anyways, 3 weeks of airborne course will commence next Wednesday, kind of excited, wondering what to expect.

Went back to PRC on thursday, put out stuff down and then booked out. Got our friday off, coz of leftover leaves, sigh PTP people get to book in out monday 10pm but for those non PTP, we still book in on Sunday 10pm.

Well wonder whats gonna happen on Monday, maybe our daily getting f-ed routine will be back, who knows.

Having nice life since Monday, but its all gonna end tomorrow.

Having a short attachment in Tuas Naval Base Medical Centre, its a stay out attachment, meaning I got to enjoy the luxury of home stay for yesterday and today. Didn't see picky there but managed to see Donovan a couple of times.

Well life as a medical centre medic is freaking lepak i feel, air-con room, just keep doing paper work and sometimes help give injections. Well like what everyone says, NSF only, serve 2 years and then F off, why chiong so much, well when times are tough, I feel it kinds of makes sense.

Well tomorrow's the last day of my attachment, gonna enjoy the last few slacker moments before we return back to PR Camp and then to Hendon Camp where life's only gonna get tougher.

Anyways, I wonder how many other Wei Jies out there, since primary school, I will always meet another Wei Jie.

All good time will eventually come to an end at some point, well time flies, I've already been in SMTI for 9 weeks. Next week will be my last week there and after which we will all return back to Pasir Ris Camp before heading to HENDON Camp, something everyone of us is kind of afraid of.

I remember stepping into SMTI with a very sian attitude, and also the need to make new friends once again, I really wanted time to fly back then. But it turns out, things changed for the better, the life there is really good, sgts are also nice, things didn't turn out to be that after all.

Next week, from Monday till Wednesday, will be going to Tuas Naval Base for a small attachment to their medical centre, hope it's fun.

Just bought FM2011, wa addicted to it >.<. Why are my weekends never long enough?

Weekends Are Never Enough

Its Sunday once again, booking in at 2200 hours.

Should be going out later to fetch my bro, yea he is one of the many people whom started the standard chartered 42km at 5-6am this morning if I ain't wrong. I still remember the going home trip after my 2009 Sundown marathon from changi village with bryan. We took bus to bishan, fell deep asleep and still needed people to wake us up at the interchange, embarrassing moment. Then on the mrt and lrt, constantly falling asleep and walking home like a duck coz of sore legs.

It's been a busy and sad week for my parents it seems, last Sunday, my parents when in to Malaysia to bring my p grandmother to visit her brother, but before they arrived, he passed away. And also last Monday, i received a msg from my mom in camp saying my grand uncle also passed away. Well what a week.

Anyways ...

Its nice to see Chelsea drop points yet again.

Week 8 in SMTI ends, 2 more weeks to go, actually time really flies during our stay here, there are good memories and also there are bad memories, well lets say the bad memories revolves around the word CDOs.

Well, kind of lucky to not need to book in yesterday night for this mornings IPPT, out of the 35 medics, only me and another guy, since we gotten cdo gold, hence we earned a 'longer weekend'.

Basically for this week, it is the highlight of our entire medic training, we got a theory test on wednesday (hopefully i pass) and also our medical PAM test on thursday (ya passed it already). Had our nights out on thursday, went AMK HUB and saw SGT Goh Wm and his gf there, what a small world.

Hopefully the next 2 remaining weeks get better and slacker than it already is, so we can end this chapter of our NSF life with at smile.

Seem to forgotten everything I've learn in poly, saw one of my friends doing Amaths integration question, wa knn don't even know what to do. -_-

Another week passes.

We had 2 IV session this week, getting more skilled already, but still shaky hands. Next week there's another theory test, zzz need to start a lil bit of studying already.

Went to visit my mom's uncle who happens to be in a coma at some hospice, if I'm not wrong he has a tumor in his brain, well it's kind of sad to see him just lying there like that, becoming so skinny also, well this is life. So it's very important to take very good care of your health and also cherish every single moment.

Anyways, suddenly rediscovered the bookworm in me, hooked up on Dan Brown's books, I remember buying his DaVinci Code while I was in secondary 4 but didn't read it, suddenly I found the book again and brought it back to camp to read, found it really addictive, so I went to buy another of his book, Angels and Demons, completed it already, just went to get yet another one of his book, the Lost Symbols, gonna bring it back to camp and start reading. Well I guess all of his stories have some drug or something, it just gets you hook and you just wanna find out whats happening next.

I remember the first time going back PRC after week 1 of medic course for IPPT, i was rather glad to be back, after all this was the place i spent 9 weeks of my BMT in. On going back yesterday, I kind of had mix feelings, kind of sian plus a reality check, 5 more weeks of holidays before we go back to a"hell", you see, Nee Soon Camp is really such a wonderful and slack place BUT it kind of is good to be back to "home", some how, others in the SAF do hate CDO's alot, I don't know why, but from what I can see in SMTI, we aren't really well liked by the rest. I wonder why.

I also got a chance to catch up with some of my ex platoon mates who are in different vocations, its sad to hear that some of them are OOC, well life plays tricks on us all the time, people who wanna stay on can't, people who don't wanna stay on get to stay on instead.

Anyways for IPPT, I finally managed to hit my 1st ever CDO gold, last IPPT i missed it by 6 seconds for my 2.4km but today managed to push every last damn effort to dash pass the finish line, thus clocking 9.09seconds, a GREAT sense of achievement for me.

Well i'm left with around 2 more hours till book in. Sigh this feeling sucks, even though we got a longer weekend due to Deepavali, some how u just wan more.

Next week's gonna be the same old routine yet again but I should be happy, this current life is considered slack, 5 more weeks left to enjoy in SMTI before going back to PRC.

One Month Later

Wow, it has already been 4 weeks in SMTI. Kind of a routine order for everyday, wake up, do PT, wash up, lessons till lunch, lessons till evening, do our own PT, lepak till lights out.

I remember not being very familiar with some of my new bunk mates whom are from different platoons back in PRC, but I guess this 4 weeks we have bonded very well.

Exams after exams is really driving me crazy, sometimes in one week u can have one theory, lots of practical test. So its like constant studying, well a medic really has alot to learn.

As for IV transfusion, completed our 3rd IV today, well I'm still not very confident in it man, trembling hands doesn't really makes things any better, there's still blood drawing in the future, zzz.

Seeing some of my SMTI sgts ORD-ing today is quite sian, there's still 1 year 7mths for me to go, well take one day at a time.

At least we have a long weekend this week thanks to deepavali, a well deserved break for everyone.

Tests After Tests

Week 3 in Nee Soon Camp SMTI ends.

A very busy week, lots and lots of test, not forgetting the everyday practical and theory lessons. On Monday we had our first theory test, something which I had to waste my precious bookout time studying for, but I'm glad I passed it, meaning my effort wasn't put to waste.

Wednesday and Friday we had practical tests, arresting of haemorrhage, bandaging and others, glad I passed them all too, so don't need re-test.

We also had our IV again this week, this time i faced a lil bit more trouble than the last, topo-ed a lil while before finding the vein, in the mean time my hand was trembling like mad, zzz need to start overcoming the fear.

At least for this week I get to enjoy it more, without the need to mug for any tests, but I have a friggin 1000 word essay which is due in 2 weeks time, zzz ccb, this whole experience is like in secondary school.

Same Old Shit Again

And so week 2 of my medic course ended.

Spent around 3 hours last night from 9pm-12am studying for my test on Monday, sigh. Book out also need to study, some more its biology, the subject which i got d7 for during the O's. Gonna study again later, zz. Well hopefully the effort i put in will pay off tomorrow.

Anyways, highlight of this week is our IV transfusion, something which I guess every single one of us were really afraid of. Basically u inject a intravenous line into someone's vein and then fluid or wadever starts flushing into his or her system. Well we IV-ed our buddy and were IV-ed by our own buddy, well I'm glad I managed to complete my first IV on that day, even though my hands were friggin trembling like hell when you see blood flowing out, 9 more successful IVs to go!

Even though sometimes I grumble about the need to study alot for this medic course, I'm actually kind of glad to undergo it as I find the skills you learn there are really useful, not just in military aspect, in the civilian world, who knows when you may have to apply those skills.

My Private Life

Started a new chapter of my NS life as privates, currently undergoing a 10 week medic course at Nee Soon Camp's SMTI. Well it's supposedly a 'slacker' vocation compared to the rest but we still have our ssg coming down doing PT early in the morning while the rest of the non-cdo's are sleeping, well it's good as it helps maintain our fitness as it's really hard to find motivation to go do your own physical training during your long hours of free time.

There's alot of theory to study for medic course, really alot, mostly bio stuff, one subject which I failed in my O lvls. Well it's kind of interesting and really practical, you can bring out what you learn out to the civilian life and apply it whenever needed. So it's kindof a good skill to learn.

Had to report back to SOTAC yesterday as we had a IPPT test early this morning. Surprised to see my results improve, and im 6 seconds away to my CDO gold ah fuck. SBJ finally managed to jump 243 but i could only managed 9.20 for my 2.4km, sigh work harder next time.

Well it's not for honour and glory for the next 9 weeks instead its ...

Reached home at 1000hrs today morning, after bathing and fell asleep all the way till 1430hrs, so friggin tired. Guard duty is anything but fun, the weekday 12 hr shift already so tiring, wondering how it's like for the 24 hr weekend shift. Prowl, rest, sentry and repeat sequence until 0800hrs this morning.

Passing Out Parade

I remember this photo being taken 9 weeks ago.

Finally 9 weeks have passed and all our efforts have culminated into yesterday's passing out parade.

Our 24km road march commenced at 0700 hours, venue was somewhere near SAFRA Changi, from there we marched all the way back to our own sweet Pasir Ris Camp, Total duration took slightly more than 7 hours, though the march was tiring, we all persevered, talk cocked, sing song all the way till the very end, one step we take means one step closer to POP!

And at night was the parade, well the numerous rehearsals we had was worth it as we put up a splendid show for the audience. Marching out to the parade square in front of your love ones was really a proud moment for every single one of us. After which we got some time to take pictures with our parents and soon after we got to go home to take a well deserved break.

This 9 weeks have been very enjoyable thanks to this people around. I feel we have bonded really well since week 1, talked cocked together, getting fucked together, it's kind of sad we have to break up for our vocational courses, I will definitely miss these guys!

Well BMT is now over, after our block leave, we will all start our respective vocations, oh ya FYI, im gonna undergo medic course, hopefully its fun, haha! One step closer to our red berets! Push On!!

The Final Hurdle

After 8 weeks in SOTAC undergoing our BMT, we are left with the final week. After this friday, we will officially complete our 9 week BMT and pass out as privates.

Now the final hurdle for us is the 24km road march, no doubt it will be tough, but with every step we take means one step closer to POP!

Week 8, Day 48

Week 8 was a rather lepak week, nothing tough done and we got to lepak a lil more than usual.

High point of this week was the IPPT, did better for my 2.4km, 9.28min thus securing my BMT gold, still damn hard to get CDO gold.

First Outing With Det Mates

Went for my first outing with my detachment mates. Though many said they were going, in the end only 7 of us made it, kind of expected it but we had fun anyways.

Had sakae sushi buffet at tanjong pagar. Not that expensive but the sushi-s temaki-s ++ got really boring. At least it was cheap $20 per person.

Afterwhich we headed to town, walk walk talk talk then went home. Fking tired.

Post Field Camp

After field camp, life still carries on back in SOTAC. In terms of physical, i guess almost everyone declined a lil, even though we still did some PT during field camp. I remember mounting on the pull up bar on Tuesday and my first pull up was a struggle.

Since we have completed most of our BMT schedule, what's left for us is to clear IPPT and our SOC.

For my first SOC test, i friggin screwed up and failed, so did a hell lot of others, meaning we have to book in early today for the infamous Remedial Training. I hope today's RT help condition my body, i don't wanna fail my SOC again next week. I remember after the 700m rundown, whole body already chui, praying for the best next week.

As for IPPT, it's not really a major concern, only need to improve on my friggin SBJ, but the rest of the stations i did preetty okay.

My 7 day field camp

Week 6 Day 35

After 7 long and tiring days out in the field, we went back to civilisation and a well deserved one day break -.-

Started the journey last Monday, moral was low for everyone, what's in everyone's head was "eh fuck still first day nia, 6 more days to go". Road march to the campsite was real torture. Upon reaching, we were all both mentally and physically exhausted. The heavy rain on the first day didn't help too. Uniforms were drenched, first night sleeping out was horrible, freezing cold and the constant fear of your weapon being taken and lastly, the friggin huge wild boars appearing in the middle of the night beside your barsha. Heat rashes was also a constant irritant, thankfully i only kena minor heat rash on the fourth day, not the extreme painful cases some others get.

Well what I constantly reminded myself of was to take one day at a time, not to think too much. But of course it wasn't easy, waking up every morning was quite sian. It was really hard to stay positive.

Field camp makes you appreciate the simplest of things in life, first of all food, I didn't have the appetite for it for the first 2 days, but soon it's about sucking thumb, no eating means no energy, then you will fantasize about outside food and your mom's cooking, lol. Then it's basic necessities like bathing, not being able to bath sucks for someone who baths at least 3 times a day during my civilian days, no shelter, proper bed and blanket, most of the nights were uncomfortable and freezing and lastly TOILET, doing your big business in the field is a whole new experience. Home sick feeling was always there.

It's also in tough times that you see everyone's true colours, people's selfishness starts coming in, you can see people who just does not want to put in effort cause they are tired, those over garang people who is a constant ear sore and many others. It's some of this people who make the days sucks but there are also those that are there for you, getting fucked together and pushing on together, this positive little things can make the day brighter.

And so day by day just passed like that, with us doing the usual pt routine every morning and learning new skills for the day. Some fun, some not. We also experience many first times, including the infamous turnout. Road march to the jetty was tough but I guess in everyone's mind was "one step we take is one more step closer to home". That's how we pulled through.

And finally everything ended with us booking out at 530pm, seeing your family after a long 7 days is a real moral booster. I guess field camp has somehow changed me one way or another. It has also changed me physically, knn lose 2-3kg -.-.

This experience and the many memories are something I will hold on to forever but also something I don't wanna experience again.

Tough times don't last, Tough man do.

Rain Rain Go Away

If only my field camp was this week, it didn't rain at all for the whole of this week except today.

I gotta feeling, that next week might rain quite often, hope I'm wrong.

It's already 2pm, sigh roughly 6 more hours to me back in camp. The next week should be the toughest week for all recruits, field camp, well all the best.

Yesterday

Went out with js picky and bs, had dinner at Kushin-bo. Knn fking expensive $54 per person. Lot's of variety but once again I think i only manage to eat around $15-20 worth of food, not a born buffet eater.

Out with the old, In with the new

Blogging on my new desktop, haha, finally i don't have to use my friggin dinosaur old desktop.
Week 5 Day 35

Yet another week of my BMT passes. And the 5th week is the toughest so far, i guess the saying is true, the only easy day was yesterday.

This week we were pushed more, with the tougher PT, field camp trial and also our Ultimate Detachment Challenge (UDC). I'm a rather clean freak, back at home, I have to at least bath 3 times a day, wash my hands thoroughly before a meal but in field camp, u have to abandon all those morals, and also I'm friggin afraid of insects, well next week's field camp is the real deal, hopefully I'll pull through. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

Speaking of the UDC, every batch will have to take part in it. It's a series of physical test and also soldiering skills which aim is to bond the whole detachment together.It's also during tough times that you see everyone's true colours. Well it was tough, especially completing every thing and still have to do the 12km road march, but I'm glad my whole detachment completed it. End result is the body aches, leg blisters and a bonded detachment.

Well gonna enjoy my short weekend.

My super old desktop, the one I've been using ever since my Acer laptop broken down, somehow it's monitor is spoilt, ccb. WTF!

Week 4 Day 28

The week is rather short, as we get to bookout on thursday since today we have a parent 's engagement with the instructors, going back later to camp at 1plus with my mom.

Though the week is short, time passed rather slow. Other than physical training, we still had lectures after lectures and more lectures. Not forgetting our 8km road march, it was a bad experience i felt, putting on the heavy field pack for the first time, well there's still 16km and 24km, sigh. More blisters to come ~

Did our Ippt test again yesterday morning, did pretty much the same except i screwed up my SBJ, from 239 to 230, zzz knn. But 2.4km improved a lil to 10min flat, I really wanna break into the 9min range.

Well 4 weeks of our BMT is over, 5 more weeks of being a chao Recruit to go!

Week 3 Day 21

3rd week of my BMT ends.

Well time passed pretty fast for our 3rd week, all's good except for one day which we slept at 0200hrs and had to wake up at 0430hrs, fking tired.

Sucks that I fell sick on friday, suddenly developed fever, then sore throat and my friggin cough still won't recover. I think it's the air in the camp. Gonna see doctor yet again, wasting more money. And book out day supposed to be happy and fun, going out and stuff but sigh.

End of next week marks my 1 month anniversary in SOTAC. Heard we get to book out on thursday due to parents engagement on friday but I might have to serve my extra duty, zzz knn.

HAPPIEST National Day

Thanks to National Day, we get to book out after one week in camp. One week already home sick, i really respect the PTP people who kena confined 2 weeks. See-ing my family for the first time, it's a nice moment.

Wasted my precious booking out time yesterday, book out immediately heard from relatives that they going Malaysia JB makan dinner, ccb went there, sucky food, traffic jams, reached home at 12am today, ccb.

Anyways

When the shaver blade hits your hair, your past 18 19 years of life just flashes through your brain.

Still adjusting to military life, the discipline, waking up and tiding the bed and blanket, the food, THE PHYSICAL TRAINING and many more.

First few days were tough, missing home, calling back and hearing my mom cry on the phone kind of made my eyes teary, but slowly it gets better, with your buddies going through it together.

There are demoralizing times, super garang times, like for instance the presentation of our formation badges, only our unit has it and also watching seniors graduate, it's kind of a proud thing and there are also times when you wonder why the fk are you doing all this, izzit that glamorous?

When things get tough, you look at the rangers doing their trainings, somehow you feel better.

Well its only week 1 of my National Service, there might be more shit to come. Anyway it's better to look on the bright side and stay positive. 2 miserable years or 2 super enriching years, it's up to each and everyone of us to decide.

Last Civilian Day

Time really does fly, i still remember telling myself when i first got the enlistment letter, wa still got so many months, then wm and cz went in, told myself still got about 2 months, then bryan kiki js momo went in, still got 1month plus, now I can only tell myself to enjoy today, my last civilian day as tml I will be enlisted already. I think tml at this time, i think I would be eating lunch with family before bidding them goodbye.

Yesterday had a wonderful dinner with my family at Holland Village's Crystal Jade. Return home still got bird's nest, wa maybe going NS not that bad after all. lol

Already gotten all the stuff needed, now what's left is to pack them in. Sort of like during my secondary school days, packing my bag for a Boys Brigade Camp.

Lot's of stuff going around in my head, tonight confirm can't sleep well due to the anxiety and anticipation for tml.

Falling Dreams

I guess everyone of us have dreamt of themselves falling in a dream, be in falling of a cliff building etc and then suddenly the body jerks and you wake up of this dream.

Well falling dreams sometimes reflects a sense of failure or inferiority in certain circumstances. It may be fear of failing in school job love or maybe losing of status which makes you feel ashamed and lack a sense of pride.

Paris Lunch, Manhattan Dinner

Saturday

Went out with F4. Met up at Marina Sq and had lunch at Paris Buffet. Actually it's just a little bit higher class than Sakura, food's okok only, paid $37 but i felt like i only ate at most $10 worth of food.

After lunch caught the local movie Old Cow vs Tendergrass
Knn lj show. Watching Henry Thia kiss the young girl Crystal Lin, wa abit sick sia. The whole movie I was like constantly falling asleep, only the ending part was a lil bit funny. 1/5. Should have watched predators.

After movie went Marina Bay Sands walk walk sightseeing, before KiKi left. The remaining 4 of us cab down to Bugis Pool Fusion play pool. Wm and his girlfriend came join us. The SAF slimming centre at Pulau Tekong is fking effective la.

The 6 of us than had dinner at Manhattan, average food. No appetite also.

After everything, wm and his gf left first, then the 4 of us went queue for KOI. knn KOI without pearl cause sold out, so added grass jelly, nb fking sick combination.

Home sweet Home afterwards. Totally broke.

Had 2 steamboat + teppanyaki session in a day, first at some relatives house, their kid 1 year old. Second at auntie's house. Wa bth.

This time next week, i would currently be in Pasir Ris Camp, maybe having lunch with my mom and then after which bidding farewell. Thereby starting my 2 years of National Service.

Left with one final week to enjoy this slack civilian life.

Fever's gone since yesterday but I'm gonna take no chances, continue with a healthier diet and rest, I don't want it to strike back again. This past 4 days has been terrible, thanks to this fever which also made me miss my cousin's birthday celebrations, sigh.

Woke up feeling normal, after run come back, suddenly feel cold, den i know something is wrong, took temperature to confirm my doubts after bathing, ccb 38.2, fk i hate falling sick.

I guess it's due to yesterday's unhealthy food i consumed. For lunch we had porridge with roasted pork and char siew, oily enough. Went out with family and relatives, drank KOI, then ate some durian puff, heaty enough, then went back to my auntie's place and ate bar kwa, oily and heaty. For dinner, went seletar's airbase the sunset grill. Had fish n chips + chicken wings + cheese fries + other unhealthy food, only form of vegetables i had ytd was the salad, ccb.

Cat Mountain King

Feasted on the King of Kings of durians the Cat Mountain King ( Mao Shan Wang) durian. Didn't even heard of this brand before, i all along tot d24 was the best.

Read today's TNP and apparently Maau based casion tycoon Stanley Ho is also a huge fan of the cat mountain king durians, he flew in a private jet to Singapore just to get it. According to the owner of 818 durian stall located at 201 Telok Kurau Road, he bought $2000 + worth of durians at $16/kg. Imba. I bought mine at Bangkit, lol for $10/kg, i guess they were trying to get rid of it, cause at $10/kg it's still considered expensive.

But the cat mountain king is really good la, lives up to its reputation, just gonna quote from TNP, firm on the outside but creamy on the inside. Sweet after taste and also more flesh and smaller seeds.

Okay this post sounds more like a food review.

Sleepless Nights

I've been having trouble sleeping these 2 days, guess I'm still not used to sleeping so early? Last month's WC got me sleeping at 4-5am in the morning and waking up at 10am, which makes me cherish my sleep a lot, now i go to bed latest by 1am and wake up around the same time. Last night went to bed at 1, toss and turned till 2, before falling asleep and waking up again at 4plus to pee, woke up again at 6 and yet again at 8 thanks to the alarm set by my brother before finally getting out of bed at 10am. CCB

Need to cherish my sleep more and also the luxury of waking up at 10am, when i enlist for NS, i guess it will be reveille at 0530hrs? sigh.

Saw this super sad video, made my eyes teary. There is nothing more powerful than a mother's life for her child. T_T

What kind of a son does this? She brought him up and this is how he repays her? Sigh.

BB 2010 world cup.

Been accompanying my mom on her brisk walks around our neighbourhood during the evening. Last week we happened to see some young GreenRidge SS teachers heading home after work. Then she asked if I've ever thought of being a teacher in the future. I told her ya that's what I plan to do. Actually I want to be a poly lecturer as I felt good pay and 'easier' job but it might not be that easy of a job, went for the SIT interview awhile back, one of the questions being asked was what I planned to do in the future, told them the exact same thing i typed here, mr david seow was one of the interviewers, he say no leh, its not as easy as you think. Hmm

Anyway its still a long time, I keep telling myself ( actually no ), 2 years in NS 'might' have alot of opportunities arising, and I should have applied for NIE? and take their degree courses there. Well i still wanna try applying for NUS/NTU Mechanical Eng and maybe work in the industy a few years first.

My bio teacher in Secondary School was imba. He graduated in UNI was a first class honours, immediately he join my school as a Head Of Department already, then after teaching us for awhile, he left to join another secondary school was a vice principle, he really moves up the ladder fast sia, he should be a principle of some school by now or maybe even higher, who knows.

Well ... ...

PS : From my primary, secondary school days, PE teacher i feel is still the easiest and best job. Gather the class, make them run, play sports take napfa test and then end of story.

Caught Triple Tap with Bs picky and ron today at Bugis Iluma. Quite a nice show, even though talking a lil too much and gun scenes kindof little.

Afterwhich, we headed for KOI. OMG la, whats up with this suddenly hot KOI fever, see people in twitter or fb, updating us on their KOI experience, sharing photos of their waiting number and photos of their KOI. Well the queue is never ending it seems, our queue no. was 522, just in case any KOI fanatics wanted to know.

Well it's not my first time drinking it though, but i still feel its kindof overrated. Well to get a medium milk tea it cost 2.40, sweettalk and other bubbletea shop sells at about 1.50. The pearls given are small which I don't really appreciate, chew until mouth tired. The milk tea seems thicker than usual which is a good thing. And i guess the 'coolest' thing bout KOI is that you get to choose your sweetness level, well come on, you are drinking milk tea, why care so much about the health factor, life's too short man. If you really want a healthy drink, go buy herbal tea, it's cheaper some more.

Well long queue's not entirely a bad thing though, lots of girls queuing up, ~.~, well its the cool thing now.

For dinner we had ajisen ramen. Opposite was Nando's, well the queue is outstanding la, 3 or 4 lines sia, i guess it's also the in thing now, I'm so gonna try it soon.

After dinner, played pool at pool fusion, 1 hr 14.80, nb so expensive but nvm la, friends wad.

Wang Zi and Xiao Jie did this new song for an ad, sigh where's the rest sia. Wang Zi Xiao Jie are in a different label company already, sigh i seriously think Lollipop gonna disband.

YAY!

Didn't even know TSGS had 5 new chapters until I stepped into a Popular Bookstore. Yes it has also been quite awhile since I last stepped into a bookstore. And ya finally got 4/5 of the books, cb book 19 left last book and its in rotten condition, sigh.

Got a new pair of everlast shoes, cheap leh $50, well i just hope it lasts.

Still deciding if i should get the HTC Snap, i've only got a singtel plan and it cost $188, if only i had a M1 plan i can get it for $128 and also I am scared that once i buy the phone, the price drop, zzzz so troublesome. Oh ya my dad got a Iphone, hmm 'shockening' la, well hope he gets used to it, if not the phone confirm give my lil brother.

Such a nice weather right now.

Anyway, it seems like the FML thingy is really the trend right now. For example in FB, someone will go posting"blah blah blah, FML".

Wtf? Is your life really that miserable? Unless you have some terminal disease, no shelter, no chance of attending school, deprived of your parents love, abusive parents or not even able to fill your hungry stomach as you can't afford it. Well if you do have one of those, I am sorry, if not I don't see why your life is so miserable after all. I guess everyone takes this little things for granted.

One More Month

I remember constantly telling myself awhile back ago, still got long time till enlistment la, day by day, week by week, month by month. Now its already 30th June. And when July comes, time will definitely pass super fast.

Well I can't say I have not enjoyed myself before enlisting, in fact I've been enjoying myself ever since graduation. Firstly, I can say I'm very fortunate to have parents not forcing or asking me to go to work, so i managed to slack and then rot for the last few months and also paying for my overseas trip. Secondly, went on a Taiwan trip with my poly classmates. Thirdly, occasionally gone up to Genting with relatives and also the more recent trip with my mum to Sydney Australia. Then there was also the Dinner and Dance, first time I've been to such a school function as my secondary school prom night was cancelled plus also the gatherings with poly classmates and also my secondary school gang.

Well the last few months has indeed been fun, but I guess soon it's time to do what all able bodied Singaporean man has to do, serve the Nation. Though this 2 years life will not prove to be as attractive as civilian lifestyle and may require a lot more discipline, well like what everyone else's says "suck thumb LL and get it over and done with."

Truly Asia

In the last 3 days, I've been to Malaysia JB twice.

First was tagging along with parents to visit my p.grandmother's brother. Had zi char for lunch over there, apparently they have a family owned zi char restaurant there. I've always preferred Malaysia's style of hor fun and I'm glad i wasn't disappointed.

Well the family there is very imba. The marriages and pregnancy age is constantly getting younger. Last I heard from my mom, one of the daughters who is the same age as me, already gave birth and got married to a Spore guy serving his NS. Ok she was 18 at that time. Now got a new record breaker, one of the sons aged 25 managed to get a 16 going 17 year old girl pregnant and she is due in 1month and yes they are already married. Kudos to them.

This got me thinking,

Well when the baby is 16, the mom will be 32. If the baby (if she's a girl) follows the mother's footsteps and get pregnant at the same age. The mother will be a grandmother at 32. If the granddaughter continues the legacy, she will be a great grandmother at 48. If the great granddaughter does the same, she will be a great great grandmother at 64. Well if this continues yet again, great great great grandmother at 80. If she gets to live to a ripe old age of 100, she will then be a great to the power of 4 grandmother at 96. Wow.

Tuesday

Went back to Malaysia yet again, how coincidental, its my p.grandmother's brother's birthday. So went to the same place for some buffet dinner. Well it's just oily. Drank Carlsberg, 2 cans and I'm already sick of it, beer sucks. I wonder how some can drink a whole six pack of more.

Disappointment

Well, England are out of the 2010 world cup, 4-1 thrashing by Germany, well if the linesman didn't make the mistake by not awarding Lampard's goal, it might have been 2-2 before half time and who knows, England may play with a better mentality. Well disappointment is a everyday life of being a England supporter, 1-1 draw with USA, 0-0 with Algeria and only managing to beat Slovenia 1-0.

I've been very impressed with the way Germany has been playing so far, their attacking link up is just imba. And now my favourite player is Mesut Ozil. Even though his face gives off the bochap and sloppy attitude, he is friggin awesome.

You are so welcome at Old Trafford, join Man Utd next season la.

One Year Later

Wow time really does fly, its already been 1 year since Michael Jackson passed away. Didn't even notice until I saw channel 5 playing some old MJ's concert and I remember hearing MJ songs a lot of time at Isetan Orchard just now.

Anyway had dinner with family , auntie and cousins at the real Pu Tian stall. It's some old stall Located at Jalan Basr. Maude Street. It's so much nicer and taste more original than the air conditioned Pu Tian at JP, Vivocity +++ . Their lor mee is really imba. Do try it, you dont know anything about Pu Tian until you step inside their shop and eat.

Time flies

Time really does fly. exactly one month ago, on this very day, we had our graduation ceremony, then makan at pizza hut, then i left for Aussie. Hopefully time flies as fast when I'm serving the Nation.

But as much as I hate to admit, NS is kind of a blessing in disguise. As it gives us (ok only guys) another 2 years to figure out what path you wanna continue. The transition of boys into man maybe helps us decide wisely as we should be more matured.

Around 1mth plus to my enlistment, speaking of which, its the commando thingy that's driving me crazy. I always try to keep it a low profile, when friends ask me where and when i enlist, i will tell them "army lor", then they ask me "tekong ar", i will reply "no". Then they will "huh where then?", i bo bian then say "commando lor". Then they will go "WAH SEH, sia la". Then the news will spread and suddenly everyone knows... ....

It's not that I'm not willing to admit or I'm ashamed, it's just that I haven even friggin enlist or undergo any training. Maybe in the future when i complete the course and get my red beret, then okay can action abit cause I think its more deserving.

Last Haircut B4 NS

Got my final haircut before i officially go botak in around 1 month plus time. Was supposed to get the torres haircut but things don't always work out. So in the end i just got a normal haircut.

Might head down to acer service centre and try to work something out with them regarding my laptop.

Sober, Sleep Deprived, Broke

Feeling sober, able to walk str8 feels much better.

Officially friggin broke now. Previously i'm already in a very bad situation, to go out yesterday, i hate to dig into my reserves for money, sigh.

Anyway yesterday.

Met up with f4 for K session at Kbox, expensive though, bad choice. Saw wm there with his lady friend, they seem happy together, which of course is nothing wrong.

Dinner at Marine Square TS Korean Cuisine, cheap and affordable, but still not full enough so me and picky went for Carl's Junior. Confirm full.

After that picky was very nice to take us on a tour onboard the new circle line from esplanade to dhoby ghaut then to Clarke Quay. Then we made our way back to Raffles Place (almost back to where we started) to SupperClub. Got a friggin haolian taxi driver.

Celebrated Carrie's 21st Bday. Managed to convince my mom in allow me to go club cause I told her it would be our last time meeting already. Well it works. F4 were loaded, so ordered one bottle of Johnnie Walker black label, 200 SGD, which i tot wasn't very nice. After clearing it and the red bull vodka, headed down to dance floor.

Had a fair share of pleasant and unpleasant grinding moments. It was only when i went toilet that I realised I was a lil bit drunk and couldn't walk straight, well i guess its common.

Left at around 2plus, reach home at 3plus, finished bathing and went str8 to bed, i tot drinking can sleep str8 away but i ended rolling on my bed till 4 plus. And at friggin 8am this morning, got woken up by my mom, she say go eat breakfast Boon Lay. ZzZ.
